Client: MWH Treatment Limited & Black & Veatch JV
MBV have engaged with Ward and Burke to design and build the civils works for Ince Park Biomass Power Resource Recovery Centre (20MW Plant). The facility is located in Cheshire on a previously undeveloped site. The site has a number of challenges 1) it is located on 8m-10m of Peat 2) it is located within the COMAH zone of a nearby CF Fertilizer facility which handles ammonia gas (formally Growhow) and 3) the client has stipulated a maximum slope of 0.2% on the building slabs.
- Design & construction of the Fuel Reception Building (72m x 38m x 18m high) including cladding, doors, windows, push walls and divisions.
- Wood chip will be discharged into this building by articulated lorries before being pushed onto the ‘feed rakes’/walking floor by a front-loading shovel.
- The feed rakes area a series of steel ladders which slide backwards and forwards to push the fuel towards a conveyor in a pit along the end of the building.
