The project consists of the construction of a 67m long, two span, post tension cable stayed footbridge over the River Moy in Ballina, Co. Mayo. The Ridgepool is one of Europe’s leading fisheries and an extremely important environmental, economic and tourism resource. Demolition of the existing three story industrial building on the north bank of the River Moy. Manufacture and erect a pre-cast concrete bridge deck with stay cables from the deck to the pylon.
- Works undertaken adjacent to a listed structure – fish pass and weir.
- Rigorous management controls were required to meet with Fisheries, National Parks and Wildlife.
- Requirements due to the strategic location of the bridge works.
