We are looking for a Civil engineer to join our Havant Thicket project. The project is currently undergoing detailed design and we are looking for a Civil Engineer, with an interest in other disciplines, to join the project design team. The successful candidate will join the project and undertake shaft and tunnel (pipe-jack) design work as well as detail internal structures within the shafts for the final pipeline. As the project progresses the candidate will also be expected to engage with HAZOP / HAZCON / ALM studies and work as part of the team to develop the final solution.
Once construction starts the candidate will work with the site teams in the development of temporary works designs and ensure all works are completed as per design.
As this role is permanent, after the project (i.e. 2025 – 2026) we would look to move the successful candidate onto a different project within the Thames Water or Southern Water area. The dates of this move could be subject to change depending on project requirements, so the candidate should be prepared to travel to other sites within the Thames/Southern water areas of operation.
We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years or site based or design based experience, but with an keenness to work in a project design role. The candidate will need to have a degree level qualification in Engineering, ideally Civil, although other disciplines will be considered.
A UK driving license is required.
Other beneficial (though not essential) experience:
- Experience with Autocad and/or Revit for production of 2D and 3D models.
- Experience with BIM360 for document management.
- Experience / understanding of quality control and documentation management.
- Design experience for reinforced concrete structures.
- Design or site experience on tunnelling projects (ideally pipe-jacking)
- Interpreting geotechnical investigations
- Office (Excel / Powerpoint / Word / etc.)
- 2D and 3D Finite element analysis software (e.g. SCIA, Inventor, Plaxis, Ansys)
Based in our Havant project office, a 5 minute walk from Bedhampton station, PO9 1NN for the duration of the project.
