Ward and Burke is a Heavy Civil Engineering Company that specializes in long distance tunnels for sewer and water, and the construction of deep shafts in all types of ground conditions. Opportunities for Graduate Engineers are currently in Canada.

Key Qualifications for Position:

  • A recent graduate (within 2 years) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and an interest in the application of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering to build Infrastructure.
  • Practical experience on a Construction Site or Farm, working around Heavy Machinery a must.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Sink R.C Caisson Shafts in various soil conditions & install RCP microtunnels between the shafts.
  • Build up to 50m deep shafts & construct long tunnels up to a 1.5km in length between shafts.
  • Reinforced Concrete Construction, design, and labour.

 

Training includes Technical, Financial, Project Management, Legal and Safety.

Salary range is between $70K – $85 CDN to start.

Work is intense and requires Engineers with good judgment, organization, ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure, direct employees on site and insist on high quality work being completed.

Regular work hours are 7am to 6pm weekdays. All the work is by directly employed skilled labour and company-owned plant and equipment.
