Ward & Burke seek a Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitter for Water and Wastewater projects.

Position’s available in the West & Southwest Regions of Ireland.

The successful candidate will support the delivery and maintenance of mechanical and automated systems across water and wastewater treatment facilities, carrying out installation, servicing, fault finding and commissioning activities to ensure the reliable operation of plant and equipment.

 

The day to day requirements are as follows-

  • Install, maintain and repair mechanical equipment at water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework, conveyors, mixers and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of new mechanical and automated systems.
  • Perform fault finding on mechanical equipment and support troubleshooting of automated plant systems.
  • Work alongside electrical, automation, and process engineers to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Complete planned maintenance activities and accurately record all maintenance work carried out.
  • Assist with plant shutdowns, upgrades and refurbishment works.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental procedures.

 

The Candidate:

The preferred candidate shall:
  • Have safety at the forefront of every task.
  • Have a good understanding of automated process equipment and maintenance practices.
  • Be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Be a strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be willing to travel to project sites as required.
