We are currently hiring a CAD/BIM Technician to join our growing design team based in our Head Office in Kilcolgan, Galway. This role is available for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model and Drawing Production: Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and BIM models for utility systems (e.g., wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipe networks, electrical infrastructure) from preliminary concepts, sketches, and engineering calculations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, surveyors, and other team members to understand design requirements and integrate different design components into a cohesive model, performing clash detection as needed (using tools like Autodesk Navisworks).
  • Documentation and Standards: Ensure all work is compliant with relevant industry standards (e.g., specific utility standards, health and safety regulations, BIM protocols like ISO 19650/BS 1192) and internal quality assurance procedures.
  • Data Management: Maintain an organised library of design files, manage drawing archives, handle revisions and version control, and generate documentation such as Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s) and quantity take-offs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of engineering principles and highly proficient in relevant software packages, which may include:
    • Autodesk Revit (for BIM modelling)
    • AutoCAD 3D and preferably Civil 3D
    • Autodesk Navisworks
    • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Qualifications: A relevant third-level qualification such as a Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in a design consultancy or a similar environment, ideally with specific exposure to utility or infrastructure projects.
  • Other Skills:
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Effective time management and organisational abilities.
    • A proactive approach to problem-solving.

Salary: €40,000-45,000 DOE
