We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician with experience in the water and wastewater industry to join our growing CAD team in the Mechanical Estimating Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality technical drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This role requires strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and other Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, along with an understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and associated infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain Revit models in line with project and BIM standards.
- Collaborate with our mechanical estimators and designers to translate concepts into detailed technical drawings.
- Support project delivery by ensuring timely completion of drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with client specifications and relative industry standards.
- Assist in the development and improvement of CAD, Revit and BIM standards within the organisation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician within the water and wastewater industry.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of BIM principles, workflows, and standards.
- Experience producing detailed drawings for civil, mechanical, or process engineering projects.
- Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure layouts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with BIM Level 2 standards (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks).
- Knowledge of Uisce Éireann and UK water industry standards.
