The e‑Plan Designer will support the design, coordination, and documentation of electrical and mechanical control panels, kiosks, instrumentation layouts, and associated digital drawings for water and wastewater treatment projects. This role focuses on producing accurate, compliant digital plans for construction teams, commissioning engineers, and public‑sector clients.

The designer will work within a multidisciplinary construction environment, ensuring that all e‑Planning submissions, technical drawings, schematics, and revisions adhere to utility provider standards (e.g., Uisce Éireann), industry regulations, and internal quality controls.

 

Digital Panel & System Design

Produce detailed CAD/BIM drawings for MCC panels, control panels, kiosk layouts, instrument schedules, and cable routing plans.

Generate accurate schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and fabrication details for construction and manufacturing teams.

Develop 2D/3D models to support design coordination and clash avoidance.

 

ePlanning & Utility Submission Packages

Prepare digital design packages for submission to water authorities, planning portals, and client systems.

Ensure all submissions meet standards for water and wastewater infrastructure (e.g., specification formats, naming conventions, and GIS requirements).

Track revisions, respond to planner/authority queries, and coordinate resubmissions.

 

Multidisciplinary Coordination

Work closely with electrical engineers, ICA specialists, civil/MEP teams, and project managers to gather inputs and update design documentation.

Support construction teams by providing accurate drawings for fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

Attend design reviews and resolve drawing‑related queries.

 

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Apply water and wastewater industry design standards, including electrical safety requirements, asset mapping formats, and utility‑specific detail sheets.

Conduct thorough quality checks on all drawings prior to release.

Maintain compliance with environmental, health & safety regulations and internal QA processes.

 

Document Control & Data Management

Maintain structured digital drawing libraries with full version control.

Manage updates throughout project stages: concept, detailed design, manufacture, installation, and as‑built.

Produce as‑built documentation packages for handover to clients and operators.

  

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM tools.
  • Experience producing electrical and control system drawings, ideally for utilities.
  • Understanding of panel design (MCC, ICA, PLC, instrumentation layouts).
  • Strong ability to interpret engineer redlines, schematics, and site mark‑
  • Experience working within construction, engineering, or utility‑based projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with water/wastewater infrastructure standards (e.g., Uisce Éireann, UK Water Industry, EN standards).
  • Knowledge of e‑Planning submission systems or public‑sector digital workflows.
  • Experience coordinating with fabrication workshops or panel builders.

Salary: €50-60k DOE
