This position is based out of the West/Southwest Region of Ireland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account, ensuring effective cost control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

 

The day-to-day requirements are as follows:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for Mechanical & Electrical works.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement of M&E packages.
  • Measure and value works completed on site, preparing interim valuations and payment applications.
  • Monitor project costs and produce regular cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Identify, price, and manage variations, claims and change orders.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Attend project meetings and provide commercial advice to the project delivery team.
  • Support the preparation of project forecasts and assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.

 

 

The Candidate:

The preferred candidate shall:

  • Have at least 2–3 years experience in an M&E Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role.
  • Possess excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Have experience managing project costs across water/utility projects.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
  • Hold a degree in M&E Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering – or a related discipline.
  • Be a strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
