Ref No. - US Senior Site Manager Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Site Manage/Engineer for the Columbus, OH area.

Job duties and Requirements are detailed below.

Job duties:                 

  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, oversee, evaluate, reprimand, and, if necessary, terminate technical subject matter experts, junior engineers, professional surveyors, and various other professional and non-professional personnel at the project site, ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are satisfied, review progress/progress reports from various on-site teams and professionals and monitor costs on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work and safety of construction managers.
  • Assess and interpret project specific and regional geotechnical data and relay potential risks and mitigating measures to be implemented by construction managers and Junior managers/engineers.
  • Select and order specialized tunnel equipment, tools and material for the project.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure construction and site safety, evaluate and address any health or safety risks/issues and document same pursuant to federal and local OSHA safety standards.
  • Review and prepare site reports, designs and drawings and consult with, client representative engineers as well as outside electrical/civil/mechanical/traffic engineers, and other professionals regarding project specifications.
  • Assist with negotiating vendor, consultant and equipment contracts and aide in securing necessary local and state permits and licenses.
  • Establish and maintain quality control procedures; provide periodic risk assessment audits and establish risk mediation efforts to document potential project deficiencies and hazards, and establish plan or programs for engineers, construction workers, and other on-site personnel to address same.
  • Position is based at our Columbus headquarters, but has occasional responsibilities in Cleveland.

Requirements

  • Must have Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must have 2 years of experience as a Teaching/Research Assistant, Civil Engineer or related.
  • Civil engineering experience must involve microtunnel and caisson shaft construction.
  • If qualifying based on Teaching/Research Assistant experience, this must involve geotechnical engineering. Master’s level coursework must include multiple examples of classes in geotechnical engineering.
